The following is a letter of reference for Interior Decorator Jackie Connolly. I bought a home in Georgetown, Ontario in the spring of 2007. The house was completely unfurnished when I moved in from a one bedroom apartment. With the exception of a bed and a few bedroom furnishings, nothing else from my apartment could be used in my new home. In other words, the entire re-decorating effort was from scratch. In the past, I had always relied on my wife to look after the furnishing of our homes. I had absolutely no experience in interior decorating. As a result, I hired Jackie to help me do my interior decorating. I did not know where to begin, as I had no idea what I wanted. This was frustrating to both Jackie and me. She correctly recommended that we spend several Friday’s visiting various furniture stores. After several outings, she began to get a feel for what I wanted. This turned out to be a “traditional” style. The most important pieces of furniture were the chesterfield and wing back chairs. After searching many stores we could not find a piece that we liked. She recommended that we go to a furniture manufacturer in Vaughn. There, we finally found a chesterfield style that I liked. We then went through about a 100 different fabrics with a wide variety of patterns and colors. Jackie finally found a floral pattern that beautifully matched my blue carpet and burgundy walls. When we got the chesterfield six weeks later, it turned out to be a perfect match. The same was true how we chose the color and patterns for the wing back chairs. All this was done at a reasonable price, which Jackie was able to negotiate on my behalf. In total, she helped me purchase over 25 different pieces of furniture, artwork and other home furnishing items. I can say that all the pieces fit the “traditional” theme and melded together to stand out in a golden glow under the beautiful chandelier that she found. Jackie also saved me a fair bit of money by taking me to dealers that could only deal with Interior Decorators and there by getting me discounts. Jackie is sociable, fun and energetic. I highly recommend her for anyone needing an Interior Decorator.
